Weekly Update

Dear Students and Parents,
Happy New Year! We are excited to continue the school year and have great things planned for our students in the coming months. Now is a time for our students to reflect on the goals they created in September and gauge where they are in meeting them. We are almost halfway through the school year. Progress reports for the second trimester will be published on February 5, 2020.
The second quarter will end on Wednesday, January 29. Art, Music, Shop, Health, Drama, and Technology classes all meet on a quarterly basis. Students will switch classes for the third quarter on Thursday, January 30, and students in all grades will switch their unified arts classes.
Both quarters and trimesters are a set number of days. In the event of a school cancellation due to weather, we will adjust the dates.
After School Activity Forms for the WINTER Session will be sent out at the end of next week. Forms are due on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Programs will be filled on a first come first serve basis. The WINTER Session begins on Monday, February 10 and ends on Thursday, April 16. However, Study Club begins on Monday, January 13. Any student can access study club to receive extra help or to complete homework. There is NO fee for Study Club.

There is a new immunization requirement in Massachusetts. Grade 7 entry: 1 dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY) for all students. Click here for more information. If your child is in 6th grade, you may want to make an appointment before the summer crunch or discuss at your next appointment with your child’s pediatrician.
Yearbooks
Yearbook Sales EXTENDED: This year our yearbook will feature all grades. Please visit JostensYearbooks.com to order your 2020 Marshall Middle School Yearbook. The cost is $21 and will be delivered in school to students on the last week of the school year. We have extra copies available and are extending sales until Friday, February 7th. Students in all grades may purchase a yearbook.
